The performance is a poetic experiment around “sensing and making sense in absence”. Vilém Flusser, whose writings enlightened me on understanding digital media specificities, had a blind eye. So do I. This coincidence encouraged me to explore creatively the absence of vision regarding issues present in his work.
Challenging the dichotomy between form and function, the work consists of an eye-tracking system programmed to generate and manipulate sounds according to the synchrony-asynchrony of the eyes movements.
Special thanks to Edgar Zanella Alvarenga (programming), Radames Ajna (programming), Caterina Renaux Hering (costume design), Dominik Hildebrand Marques Lopes (programming), Till Bovermann and Amélie Hinrichsen (3DMIN expertise/supervision), and last but not least, to Jörg Klenk (everytime love and support ♥).
